Comet Swim Club is Gisborne’s longest established swimming club, catering for all levels of aquatic education.
Their learn to swim programme caters for babies to school age children and is developed to ensure that children learn to be confident and competent in the water. They also provide lessons for adults by request.
The club also has advanced training squads from stroke to squad that produce some of the most competitive swimmers in the region and also the country.
The stroke programme provides a natural progression from their learn to swim group with a focus on the continuation of the development of individual stroke skills.
This progression then carries on to their squads, of which they have nine. Comet squad swimmers are lucky enough to enjoy access to both long and short course sessions.
The Quality Swim School have also started their own Tairawhiti Swim for Life Project as they aim to provide their community with quality learn to swim and water safety programmes.
All staff at Comet Swim Club have completed Swimming New Zealand education courses in swim teaching.
