Christchurch City Council’s Quality Swim School held a water safety day for under-fives at paddling pools around the city last week meeting lots of families and enjoying the warm weather.
The swim school’s aim for the day was to offer positive and safe aquatic activities for the younger members of the Christchurch community.
The day was led by qualified Christchurch City Council Swimsmart instructors who worked with children to promote and deliver water safety from a young age.
More than 100 children took part in the activities that encouraged them to have a positive relationship with the water and with learning in an aquatic environment.
The activities were well received by parents and participants at all three venues throughout the day.
Christchurch City Council offers a range of learn to swim programmes and options from six months to adults. Find out more about the swim school on their website.
