Para-Swimmer Sophie Pascoe has been named Disabled Sportsperson of the Year at the 53rd Halberg Awards in Auckland last night.
Pascoe had a stellar 2015 winning three golds, a silver and two bronze medals at the IPC Swimming World Championships.
It is the fourth time Pascoe has won the award after also winning it in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Other finalists included fellow Para-Swimmer Nikita Howarth, Para-Skier Corey Peters and Para-Shooter Michael Johnson.
Lauren Boyle was also a finalist at last night’s awards in the High Performance Sport New Zealand Sportswoman of the Year category. The award went to Lydia Ko.
