North Canterbury swimmer Natasha Lloyd has enjoyed success racing in Canada.
Lloyd has won the 100m and 200m breaststroke titles at the BC Open Championships in Vancouver.
The national champion is overseas gaining race preparation towards next month’s Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Hawaii.
Lloyd is combining some invaluable training and racing in 50m pools while on a family holiday in Canada, with no 50m swim facility in Christchurch after the earthquakes.
She won the 100m breaststroke title in 1:12.30 and the 200m final in 2:36.43.
Lloyd also finished runner-up in the 400m individual medley in 5:04.78.
The Kaiapoi-based swimmer has now linked up with a local club in West Bank, a five hour drive inland from Vancouver, with the club coach previously from the University of Calgary who is developing a strong international squad in the club.
