Spotlight on Quality Swim Schools - New Plymouth School of Swimming

New Plymouth School of Swimming is dedicated to providing the best swimming education.

The swim school offers classes for all ages and skill levels from six months old and upwards. They provide both group lessons and one on one private lessons for children and adults.

A recent change in ownership of the school has all been taken in stride with new owners Brendon and Vaughn Smith working to continually improve the swim school.

Over the past few months the pair has worked hard to ensure their swim school has the best policies and procedures to offer best practice to their customers to move from a Bronze to Silver level Swimming New Zealand Quality Swim School.

To celebrate this, Koru the Kiwi was at the swim school for two days to help share water safety messages with their young swimmers and to promote developing skills to be safer in the water.

Vaughan had worked at the New Plymouth School of Swimming for the past two years and Brendon has a background in commercial property management so when it came time for the previous owners to move onto something else it was a natural progression for Brendon and Vaughan to take ownership of the business.

New Plymouth School of Swimming has a fantastic team of fully qualified, dedicated and experienced teachers eager to teach children how to gain the necessary swimming skills in the aquatic environment.

The New Plymouth School of Swimming take great pride in working to constantly train all their teachers with the Swimming New Zealand qualifications to improve their ability to pass on effective skills and techniques to their students.

Their pool is designed especially for learn to swim, maintaining their pool at 32 degrees which is the optimum temperature for infants.

They have a shallow end for their beginners and a deep end for their stroke development class and upwards. They believe that learning in deep water is essential for developing survival skills and have a water safety week at the end of each term.
