Star New Zealand swimmer Sophie Pascoe has been named as a finalist in the prestigious Laureus Sports Awards.
Pascoe is a finalist in the Sportsperson with a disability category amongst all the world sporting stars.
She won five gold medals at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Montreal last year, setting four world records in the process. She was awarded the IPC Athlete of the Month for August covering these successes.
Pascoe has also won a total of six Olympic gold medals and four silver medals at Beijing and London.
Her category includes disabled athletes who won a collective 32 gold medals in world championships last year including wheelchair racers Tatyana McFadden and Marcel Hug, two other swimmers, Norway's Sarah Louise Rung and Ukraine's Olga Sviderska, and French skier Marie Bochet.
