Aquatic staff from Bay of Plenty swim schools have developed their skills in management after attending a Train the trainer course in Tauranga.
Throughout the one-day course there was lots of great discussion around dealing with challenging staff and customers and how they can best be managed whilst maintaining a harmonious environment.
Participants at the course said they found several topics interesting and very helpful including information on finding conflict resolution, having an increased understanding of the learning styles within a team and how to manage differing personality types effectively.
Group discussions, role plays, brainstorming activities and video evidence were all part of the day to help further their understanding of the course content.
As part of the course, participants were also asked to present information about a person they feel shows good leadership. This could include a world leader, sports person or someone more personal. There were some great leaders discussed in the course including work colleagues, sports people and family members.
The course is an excellent opportunity for anyone working in the aquatics industry in a supervisory or management role to gain some new information, skills and confidence in managing staff and customers most effectively.
