New Zealand swimmers have chalked up a further five medals in two major meets in Australia.
Eighty-six New Zealand swimmers from 33 clubs are competing in Australia this week at the Queensland Championships and the Victorian Age championships in Melbourne.
Manawatu’s Mya Rasmussen (Kiwi West Aquatics) continued on her way with a silver medal in the 16 years 200m breaststroke in 2:35.01 at the Queensland Championships in Brisbane.
The other medals were at the Victorian Championships in Melbourne. In the boys, Waikato’s Andrew Jeffcoat (Fairfield) third in the 17-18 years 200m backstroke in 2:07.29 and Ryan Oliver (Howick Pakuranga) who was third in the 13 years 100m breaststroke in 1:12.97.
In the girls, Katlyn Steedman (Ace, Hamilton) was second in the 16 years 100m butterfly in 1:05.91 and Lucy North (AquaBladz) third in the 14 years 400m individual medley in 5:12.98.

Females, 17-18 200m medley: Ruby Matthews (Otumoetai) 2:26.64, 9th.
14 yrs 400m freestyle: Georgina McCarthy (Hillcrest) 4:31.71, 7th.
16 yrs 200m breaststroke: Mya Rasmussen (Kiwi West) 2:35.01, 2nd.
Male, 16 yrs 200m freestyle: Thomas Wilson (QEII) 1:57.93, 7th.
Victorian Age Championships, Day 5:
Male, 17-18 yrs 200m backstroke: Andrew Jeffcoat (Fairfield) 2:07.29, 3rd; Maxwell Stubbs (Te Awamutu) 2:14.75, 7th.
14 yrs 400m medley: Ryan Stokes (St Paul’s) 5:19.68, 10th.
13 yrs 100m breaststroke: Ryan Oliver (Howick Pakuranga) 1:12.97, 3rd
Female, 16 yrs 100m butterfly: Katlyn Steedman (Ace) 1:05.91, 2nd.
14 yrs 400m medley: Lucy North (AquaBladz) 5:12.98, 3rd
16 yrs 200m medley: Steedman 2:34.49, 8th
