The second day of the 2017 New Zealand Junior Festivals saw more New Zealand records and top individual performance across the country.
More than 1,200 swimmers aged 12 years and under are competing in the meets being held in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington and Timaru.
In the Harlequins Zone (Northland, Auckland and Counties Manukau) Howick Pakuranga leads the charge in club points on 4,235 ahead of North Shore on 3,883.5 and Coast on 2,261.
Eleven-year-old Janaye Burns (Pukekohe) continued with her winning ways from day one with four more wins today for a total of seven gold. Also with seven wins after the first two days is 11-year-old Coast swimmer Jasper Cornish.

St Peter’s Swimming Club continue to lead in the club points for the Aquaknights Zone (Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay Poverty Bay and Taranaki) with 2,101. In second is Rotorua on 1,693.5 and in third is Greerton on 1,609.
More records fell in the Aquaknights Zone today with Tarquin Magner (Otumoetai) settings two New Zealand Age Group Records. His first came in the 12 years 50m backstroke with a time of 29.43 followed by a record in the 100m individual medley with a time of 1:06.07. In other top performances ten-year-old Jodiesha Kirkpatrick (Comet) has amounted an impressive nine gold medals over the past two days.

In the All Stars Zone (Wellington, Manawatu) Capital Swim Club continue to lead the way in the club battles on 4,463 followed by SwimZone Racing on 3,808 and Pirates on 1879.50.
Two swimmers, Bianca van Zyl (Raumati) and Pierce Collins (SwimZone) have won six gold medals over the past three sessions. Eleven-year-old Bianca added to her two golds from yesterday with wins today in the 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m individual medley and 100m backstroke. Peirce, 12, also winning four events today in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 200m freestyle.

In the Makos Zone (South Island) Oamaru has taken the lead from Jasi after session three with 1,940 points. Close behind Jasi sits on 1,913 points from Wharenui on 1,366.50.
Twelve-year-old Madison Wills (Kiwi) continued to grow her gold medal tally adding four wins to her three from yesterday for a total of seven. Today Madison won the 100m and 400m individual medley, 200m breaststroke and 200m freestyle and claimed silver in the 50m butterfly. Meanwhile 12-year-old Oliver Graves (Aquagym) and 10-year-old Hanna Abdou (Jasi) both have six golds after two days of racing.
