Exciting new joint venture opportunity to support sport and recreation opportunities for physically disabled New Zealander’s with two leading Parafeds- Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
Parafed Waikato’s mission is to “provide opportunities and support for people with physical disabilities to be involved in an active lifestyle” and Parafed Bay of Plenty states it is a sports activity provider for people with physical disabilities. The two organisations have agreed on an innovative joint working relationship through a shared services model to deliver strong operational and staff management.
The ideal candidates will have experience in stakeholder and membership management as well as sport development, be strong communicators, well organised and able to work independently. They will have an aptitude for engaging with physically disabled people, coordinating the delivery of Parafed programmes with Parafed sport development staff linking with Regional Sports Organisations, Regional Sports Trusts, clubs and schools, to provide sport and recreation opportunities and pathways. They will have the ability to deliver on the two Parafed Boards’ strategic plans and accurately and effectively report, monitor and measure the impact of their (and their staff’s) work.
Essential to this role will be maintaining strong working relationships with the sports sector including other Parafeds, clubs and schools, Regional Sports Trusts, Halberg Disability Sport Foundation and Paralympics NZ. The Executive Officer will have responsibility for both Parafeds and will ideally be based in either Tauranga or Hamilton (although other locations, including Auckland may be considered).
