Youth Olympic medallist Bobbi Gichard has missed out qualifying for her second final after heats of the 200m backstroke in China today.
The 14-year-old was understandably excited and tired after her medal-winning exploits in the 100m backstroke latte the previous night.
The Greendale club swimmer clocked 2:18.00 to be 17th fastest in the heats, which was 2.5 seconds off her previous best.
In the penultimate day of competition in Nanjing tomorrow, Gichard will join fellow 14 year old Gabrielle Fa’amausili in heats of the 50m breaststroke, while North Shore Jacob Garrod competes in the 200m breaststroke.
