The Legends Relay is an event that brings together former National swimmers to raise money to support and assist our current athletes who have the potential to represent our country.
In 2017 the Legends Relay raised over $18,000 which we are hoping to beat this year.
This year at the Legends Relay will be held on the final night dubbed the ‘Friday night LEGENDS NIGHT’ of the 2018 AON Swimming New Zealand Open Championships.
The legends relay started in 2010, after an initial break the event has been running strong for the past three years.
In 2018 we are celebrating the teams which competed at the 1958 Cardiff British Empire and Commonwealth Games, 1968 Mexico City Olympics, 1978 Edmonton Commonwealth Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.
There will be 10 Teams of 6 swimming greats getting back in the pool and swimming a length in support for our up and coming athletes.
We are looking for support of the event which in turn helps the New Zealand Swimming Alumni support budding athletes achieve their international sporting dreams.
