The start of something extraordinary

LIVE STREAMING CONFIRMED FOR ALL 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS

Swimming New Zealand will partner with The Stream Shop to live stream all 2019 championship events in which audiences will be able to view for free via Facebook, YouTube and the SNZ website.

The partnership will live stream the three premiere national events; Aon NZ Open, Aon National Age Group, NZ Short Course Championships and two additional events; the NZ Secondary Schools, and Division II Championships.

SNZ Head of Participation Andy Kent says the organisation is excited to be adding two extra events to the streaming programme.

“For the first time we are investing in a quality livestream for Division II and New Zealand Secondary School championships”.

“It has been a process over the last 18 months but we are really proud to be opening up free access to those that are unable to travel to major events but still experience a meet and see swimmers compete”, says Kent.

Swimming New Zealand live streaming data from three events in 2018 show over 240,000 people were reached across Facebook alone in New Zealand and internationally.

The live streaming partnership also opens up advertising and sponsorship opportunities with potential to capitalise on local and international audiences for businesses looking to support the development of swimming across New Zealand.

“A large overseas audience from Australia, the Pacific Islands and the United Kingdom tuned into our live streams in 2018 and we are looking to boost the viewing experience with the expertise The Stream Shop can offer”, says Kent.

Kent added, “we invested in live timing graphics and now it’s taking it another step further in creating high quality advertising opportunities for local businesses and organisations to get international eyes on their products and services”.

The Otago Community Trust have officially signed on as supporters of the Division II championships.

The Stream Shop are highly experienced in sports broadcasting, working alongside Hockey NZ, Touch NZ and Netball New Zealand.
