Following are the 2020 Open Water Selection Criteria for:

1. FINA World Junior Open Water Championships (WJOW); and

2. Best Fest Swim Week.

The performance standards that have been set for the World Junior Open Water Championships reflect the Selectors and HP team’s desire to see those athletes that achieve the standard, and therefore qualifying for the meet, perform to a standard that is equivalent to a top 16 performance at the World Junior pool champs.

The Best Fest Swim Week is an opportunity for our ‘2nd tier’ open water swimmers (Open age) to gain an appropriate level of international competition and experience. This meet will also provide an opportunity for coach development for open water coaches that we are looking to fund via Prime Minister Scholarship applications.

We are looking to create opportunities for our Open Water swimmers to compete on the international stage with introducing the Best Fest opportunity.

Both events are user pays.
