Level 2 Guidelines:
By now most of you will be across the Government’s announcement at 1.00 pm yesterday outlining what life will look like under Level 2. From a sport perspective, it is very positive for us with pools allowed to be open and swimming recommencing.
CLICK HERE for the Sport NZ Level 2 Guidelines that provide guidance on how sport and recreation can operate under Level 2.
The key requirements relate to contract tracing, cleaning and hygiene and maximum gatherings of up to 100 people (both indoors and outdoors). The key message from Sport NZ is one of taking a “considered and measured approach to the restart of your operations”.
I know there will be a natural desire to get back into the water quickly, however, we strongly encourage all clubs to take the time to thoroughly understand the guidelines, and then create a robust and detailed plan, in conjunction with your pool operator, outlining how you will operate your programme before restarting any training or competition.
We are getting closer to a resumption of swimming but there is still a bit of work to do before that occurs and of course, Monday’s announcement outlining when we will move the Level 2 is the next key milestone!
