2021 Hamilton Qualification Meet




New Zealand swimmers from across the country and also Australia are coming together for one last chance to qualify for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, at the Hamilton Qualification Meet. The meet will run this weekend from Saturday  29 - Sunday 30 May, held at Waterworld Aquatics Centre in Hamilton.


Darren Ward, Chief Executive of Swimming Waikato shares some words:


"On behalf of the team at Swimming Waikato and our membership, I want to wish all swimmers and coaches a successful two days of racing, especially those who are vying for the remaining Olympic berths."


"To all those coming down to support the meet, let’s get behind our team and give them the backing they need to get on that plane to Tokyo! We hope you enjoy the racing and that you find inspiration in watching some of the best swimmers in New Zealand perform."


With just under 150 swimmers competing, the event hosts an impressive lineup of some of New Zealand's top swimmers. Cameron Leslie and Jesse Reynolds, two para swimmers who have already qualified for the 2021 Paralympic Games will be swimming at this weekends meet. Also competing, Erika Fairweather from Neptune Swim Club, Zac Reid from Aquabladz and Eve Thomas from Coast. All have swum under the Olympic Qualification standard in their respective individual events.
