Assistant Coach - Greendale Swim Club

Greendale Swim Club is a family orientated swimming club located in Hawkes Bay that caters for beginner squad swimming, right through to competitive national swimming, student fitness and masters.  We are looking for an assistant coach to help deliver our coaching programme to all junior squads and help grow its Student Fitness and Masters programmes.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming for all abilities and be able to guide its younger swimmers that enter competitive swimming from their first steps out of a Learn to Swim program up to transition into the Senior Squads.  We are looking for a positive role model with enthusiasm, energetic passion, and an ability to relate to a wide range of people.  Proven experience coaching at a club level is desirable.

Greendale Swim Club also run student fitness and Masters training programmes and the successful applicant will be able to encourage these swimmers to also reach their full potential – whether that be a desire to keep their fitness up or training for ocean swims or multisport events.

Most coaching occurs after 3:30pm on weekdays, although there will be some early morning sessions.  The ability to attend swim meets to support, coach, and encourage swimmers is also required.

The coach will need to have completed the Teacher of Competitive Stroke course, have a desire to attain the New Zealand Swim Coaches Bronze Certificate and to pass the Pool Lifeguard Training Course.  A current first aid certificate and the ability to pass police vetting will also be required.

Current hours are 13 hours poolside and an additional 6.5 hours per week for administration and meet attendance.

Applications can be made to greendaleswimclub@gmail.com and close on March 11th.
