Quality Swim School, SwimTastic, believe that learning to swim is a life lasting gift which saves lives and put a strong emphasis on safety in and around the water.
The Auckland swim school was founded and is directed by Mark Bone who brings over 35 years of coaching and teaching experience to the school.
Bone has extensive experience in the aquatic industry, both in New Zealand and overseas. He is a former Olympic and New Zealand National Coach and holds the highest qualifications that Swimming New Zealand recognises.
The school was started by Bone after he saw a growing need for swim teaching and aquatic awareness in Auckland.
Former World Triathlon Champion and Olympic Triathlete, Nathan Richmond, joins Bone as a Director of the swim school.
Richmond shares Bone’s passion and enthusiasm in the learn to swim area, while also bringing a strong discipline to the programme.
Both Directors actively participate in their teaching programme at all levels.
Teaching staff are sourced and trained to the SwimTastic model but are also currently on the Swimming New Zealand teaching qualification pathway.
The SwimTastic Teaching programme starts with babies and goes right through to school age children and adults.
The swim school also assists with shadow teaching hours for Gateway NZ Swim Teacher Award students, with qualified teachers guiding the students.
They have also recently held a Swimming New Zealand Evidence Gatherer workshop to train staff on how to gather evidence for monitoring the progress of new swim teachers completing Swimming New Zealand courses.
