Glenn Snyders has finished 12th fastest in the semifinals of the 50m breaststroke at the FINA World Short Course Championships in Doha.
The double Olympian equalled his own New Zealand record set at the recent national championships, clocking 26.58s which was 12th fastest overall to miss out on qualifying for the final.
The action was hot in the men’s semifinals where Great Britain’s Adam Peaty set a championship record of 25.75s to lead all qualifiers.
Earlier Snyders, who is based in Los Angeles under coach Dave Salo, clocked 26.61s in his head to qualify for the semifinals.
The final day of competition will see Nathan Capp in the 1500m freestyle, hoping to further improve on his recent outstanding New Zealand record.
