Everyone is welcome at BAYswim with lessons available for babies, pre-schoolers, school aged children and adults. Enthusiasm, encouragement, positive praise, comfortable learning targets and skill based progress underpin the teaching philosophies at this swim school.
Sean Tretheway heads BAYswim, he definitely knows a bit about swimming; Sean swum for New Zealand at the Sydney 2000 Paralympics. Sean is passionate about swimming and getting more people learning, participating and competing. His two trusty sidekicks Lisa and Lauren assist him in running the two swim school sites in Tauranga; at the Baywave pool in Mt Maunganui and Greeton pool in Tauranga. BAYswim also has a strong link with Greeton Amateur Swim Club and actively promotes swim club for the children who have learnt to swim with them.
All of the swim instructors hold the Assistant Swim Teacher Award as a minimum qualification and then go onto specialise with different modules from Swimming New Zealand’s New Zealand Certificate in Swim Teaching, plus they also do loads of in-house training.
