Nine more trainee teachers are ready to teach swimming in schools thanks to the State Kiwi Swim Safe training they received last week.
The third year students are from Te Wananga o Aotearoa, Waiwhero Rotorua campus.
On their very last day of their last year of training the students learnt about the State Kiwi Swim Safe programme which includes assessing students ability, water safety, what to teach at the pool and how to teach it, classroom work, and class organisation.
All the best to the students in gaining employment and becoming great teachers especially at the pool!
Comments made about the programme:
“Erin confidently conveyed the messages of the Kiwi Swim Safe workshop in a way that we could go away and implement the programme with sufficient new knowledge and on-hand teaching practices.”
“The way the workshop and program have been linked to the NZ Curriculum, this will help me when I need to know my learning intentions and will help with my lesson plans.”
