The 2004 Oceania Swimming Championships will feature 134 swimmers from 11 countries, and the USA State of Hawaii. This is the fifth edition of the Championships, and features competitions in: swimming, open water swimming and synchronized swimming (synchro). The synchro competition will mark the first time the sport has been swum in Fiji.
The swimming competition of the 10th FINA World Championships will consist of 40 long course (50m) events, swum from 20-27 July in Barcelona, Spain. Swimming's 40 events are split evenly between males and females.
The Festival will feature some of the best young male and female athletes from 18 nations including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa and United States of America. There are 1,172 athletes competing in 173 events in 14 sports.
The ninth edition of the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, a long course (50 m) event, is to be held in Yokohama International Swimming Pool in Yokohama, Japan, from August 24–29.
The 2002 Games are being hosted in the United Kingdom to coincide with the Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II, head of the Commonwealth. There are the maximum of 17 sports included in the schedule for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
