A grand old Master of New Zealand Swim Coaching passed on 25 April 2020, when we bade a sad farewell to Morry Doidge former Mt Eden Swimming Club coach.

As I am sure you will all be aware, yesterday afternoon the Government announced further measures to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus (Coronavirus) banning all gatherings of more than 500 people. In response to this announcement, Swimming NZ has made decisions relating to our national championship events over the coming months keeping the health, safety and wellbeing our swimming community at the centre of our decision making process.

Jean Hurring (nee Stewart), aged 89 passed away on Saturday 8th August 2020 in a retirement village in Auckland. "With the sad passing of Jean Hurring, we farewell an outstanding ambassador for swimming."
